Jiu Jitsu (Japanese)

Japanese Jiu Jitsu is a traditional martial art that emphasizes self-defense techniques, including joint locks, throws, and strikes.

It combines both physical prowess and mental discipline, making it an excellent practice for those interested in martial arts and personal development.

At Oxford Brookes, our Japanese Jiu Jitsu Club is in the early stages of formation, and we are eager to welcome new members who are passionate about this art. Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, we invite you to join us as we lay the groundwork for this exciting new club.

As we continue to grow, we aim to offer regular training sessions, build a supportive community and explore opportunities for future competitions and events. There are opportunities for student-athletes to compete in the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) National Championships.

Now is the perfect time to get involved and help shape the future of Japanese Jiu Jitsu at Oxford Brookes.

Want to join?

You can meet the Jiu Jitsu Club and all our Student Sports Clubs at the Sports Fair on Wednesday 18 September 2024, during Freshers Week at Brookes Sport, Headington.

Most clubs hold trials and taster sessions after the Sports Fair. If you miss the Sports Fair or want to join later in the year, please contact the Student Sport Team at sport@brookes.ac.uk
