Rex Knight has spent his whole working life in universities, including 7 years as Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Registrar at Oxford Brookes University, and 9 years as Vice-Provost (Operations) at University College London.
Alongside his role as a Governor at Oxford Brookes, Rex is also active as a consultant to universities in the UK and in Ireland, and a member of the Finance Committee of the Science Media Centre, a charity devoted to promoting the public understanding of science. He volunteers for the National Trust and a conservation society that works near his home.
Rex's wife is a retired headteacher, his daughter is a teacher in a secondary school and his son is a member of academic staff at a university in Australia, so education is very much in the family!
