Lyn Williams was appointed as an Independent Governor in August 2017.
After reading Modern Languages at Oxford University, Lyn qualified as a Chartered Accountant and had 5 years' audit experience with constituent firms of E&Y (London) and PwC (Brussels).
He then moved into industry, working for ICI Paints Division, for operating subsidiaries of Sara Lee (both in the UK and in France), and for Unilever, where over 20 years he held various senior management positions in Finance, IT and the Supply Chain, both in the UK and in the Netherlands.
Since retiring from Unilever, Lyn has held various part-time positions, including as a Non-Executive Director of Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, as a tutor for a management training company based in Aylesbury (running courses for multi-national companies in both English and French), as Chairman of Trustees for one of Unilever's pension funds, and as a Trustee of several small charities.
Lyn has had a life-long interest in education, not only as a tutor, but also as a School Governor, a role which he held in total for 24 years, first at an infants' school, then at a junior school and finally at a girls' grammar school, where he was a Governor for 15 years, including 4 as Chairman.
