About us
The Public Health team includes international researchers from a range of disciplines including epidemiology, psychology, social work, nursing, health promotion, education, management, and leadership. We are passionate about ways to improve mental and physical wellbeing, identifying factors that enhance quality of life in people’s homes, communities, workplaces and education.
We welcome enquiries from students interested in pursuing a PhD with our team, and from academics for exchanges, visits or collaborations.
Our research themes include:
- Digital healthcare, telehealth and artificial intelligence (AI) in health and social care
- Community health and wellbeing with particular focus on military families, women’s health, and university students
- Physical activity in children and young people
- Hand-hygiene and infection prevention in hospitals
- Improving writing skills, cognition and inclusivity in Higher Education
- Preventing abuse in healthcare settings
- Quality improvement in health and social care
- Addiction-recovery and substance use
- Nursing leadership.
