At Oxford Brookes University, we recognise that the responsibilities of a student carer can have a significant impact on a student's University experience as well as their ability to engage with their studies.
Some students may not regard themselves as being an 'official carer'. At Oxford Brookes, we recognise carers as those “who care, unpaid, for a family member or friend with an illness or disability, mental health condition or an addiction” (definition from Carers Trust).
We want to make sure student carers get the most out of their time at Brookes and have full access to all our support services. If a student meets the student carer criteria, we can discuss an Inclusive Support Plan (ISP) tailored to particular needs and circumstances. Please contact our Student Welfare Adviser to see how we can help.
