The project plan and resource plan are live documents, updated regularly throughout the project. They are also presented for approval as part of the project initiation document (PID), at Gateway 3: Delivery proposal.
The project plan and resource plan shows the critical activities for achieving the project deliverables, along with the timescales and identified resources who will own the actions. It should also include gateway approval points, and any planned activities for assurance, quality management, risk management, configuration management, communication and other project controls.
The project manager is responsible for producing the project and resource plans.
The appointed board will review the project plan and resource plan to consider the authorisation or appointment of resources to support the delivery of the project.
