About us
The group is focusing on agroforestry systems in Indonesia. We collaborate with farmer cooperatives, businesses and local governments. Our aim is to study which agroforestry systems already present offer the better balance between profitability and biodiversity/ecosystem services outcomes.

Research impact
The group is working on the following research questions:
- What is the best combination of crops and trees to have benefits for biodiversity and profits at the same time?
- Are there benefits in terms of reduction of farm management costs in more diverse agroforestry settings?
- Is there a potential to improve the use of indigenous crops for food protection and ecosystem services provision?
We currently engage in the following activities:
- Research on agricultural practices and their impact on biodiversity, ecosystem services, and profits;
- Share research to farmers, businesses, and government;
- Offer alternatives to agrochemicals, and study the impact of agrochemicals on biodiversity and ecosystem services;
- Expand market opportunities for farmer cooperatives
