The Research Degrees subject Sub-Committees consider applications from research students in the academic faculties.

Humanities, Environment and Social Sciences

The Humanities, Environment and Social Sciences Sub-Committee considers mainly applications from research students in Arts, Architecture, Built Environment, Business, Education, English, History of Art, History, Law, Psychology, Philosophy, Publishing, Real Estate & Construction (when appropriate) and Social Sciences.

The deadline for applications to be submitted to the Department or Faculty Postgraduate Research Tutor is earlier than those set centrally.

Please note that the deadline for submitting complete, signed applications to Maria Maroulaki in the Research Degrees Team is 2 weeks before the date of the meeting.

In addition you will be required to submit a complete application to your Faculty or Department Postgraduate Research Tutor 4 weeks before the date of the meeting.

Meetings will be held online from 10.00 - 12.00.

Semester 1

  • Friday 18 October 2024
  • Friday 6 December 2024.

Semester 2

  • Friday 21 February 2025
  • Friday 16 May 2025
  • Friday 4 July 2025.

Science and Technology

The Science and Technology Sub-Committee considers mainly applications from research students in Architecture (when appropriate), Computing; Engineering; Health Care; Life Sciences; Mathematics; Nursing; Technology; Real Estate and Construction (when appropriate), Social Sciences (Primate Conservation).

The deadline for applications to be submitted to the Department or Faculty Postgraduate Research Tutor is earlier than those set centrally.

In addition you will be required to submit a complete application to your Postgraduate Research Tutor 4 weeks before the date of the meeting.
