EXPLORE Non-Accredited Taught Scheme
EXPLORE Non-accredited Taught scheme is a three-year scheme open to new Oxford Brookes academic and teaching staff who already hold Fellowship. It focuses on teacher, researcher, and leadership development.
The first two years comprise core Research and Knowledge Exchange sessions with optional sessions related to various aspects of engaging in an academic role. On successful completion of non-accredited years 1 and 2, you would join year 3 for self-directed academic CPD. Completing each year of the non-accredited scheme on EXPLORE requires the submission of a compact e-portfolio of how your academic practice has been developed and plans for future academic continued professional development.
EXPLORE Open Offer is available to anyone teaching or supporting learning on an Oxford Brookes programme of study. It allows you to self-select standalone staff development sessions to support your continuous professional development (CPD) needs.
Bookings are available via links in our monthly Staff Learning and Career Development newsletter and directly on our Staff Learning Portal.
- New staff on academic or teaching contracts who already hold an Advance HE Fellowship.
- Successful completors of Year 1 EXPLORE Taught or Experiential schemes who achieved Fellowship recognition (at any of the Descriptors, Associate Fellow (D1), Fellow (D2), Senior (D3), or Principal (D4) Fellows).
EXPLORE is an essential part of your professional development.
All academic staff (0.5 FTE or above) new to Oxford Brookes are allocated 240 hours to complete EXPLORE, split between 100 hours in each of the first and second years and 40 hours for year three (see Workload Planning Tariffs).
