Next Steps Explained

A project to support you in making a decision about university after the January UCAS deadline has passed.

Were you undecided about going to university when the January UCAS deadline approached? Maybe January felt too soon to make a decision. Maybe you did not want to go to university, but now you are interested in knowing more and exploring your options.

Oxford Brookes University is here to help. We have a free programme to demystify the process to put in a UCAS application via Extra or Clearing if you wanted to. We'll also tell you more about the level of support available to you at university, if you decide to come.

After signing up for this project, you’ll have access to the portal, including:

  • Informative videos that will debunk topics like UCAS Extra, Clearing and Student Finance.
  • Signposted links to the right information you'll need to help you decide what to do next.
  • Insights into how to ease the transition from school/college to university.
  • We offer you a VIP Open Day Experience for our June Open Days - think goodies and a place to chill and chat to our staff, away from the crowds.

This project is here to support you with your decision making about university and help you with what comes next.

This is a free programme available to students in Year 13 / 2nd Year college who are yet to decide if university is the right choice for them. Contact us at schools.liaison@brookes.ac.uk for further information or to find out if you’re eligible.

This project will no longer run in academic year 2024/25

If you have any questions about this project or questions about support to transition to university, please do not hesitate to contact experiencebrookes@brookes.ac.uk.
