Publishing Training

We offer an exclusive one- or two-week training course for senior publishing professionals from China giving delegates the chance to learn from the experts from the heart of the publishing industry in Oxford. Alongside daily training sessions, delegates have the opportunity to network and explore business opportunities through carefully selected industry visits. Accommodation, catering and full interpretation is provided throughout and participants will be issued with a certificate from OICP (Oxford International Centre for Publishing) upon completion.

We also offer short training courses, typically one to three days, led by our staff at OICP or from guest speakers and can tailor the content according to your needs, focusing on particular areas of interest such as digital publishing or journal publishing. Trainings are delivered in English with interpretation throughout and attendees will be awarded a certificate from OICP on completion.

Symposium

The annual International Publishing Symposium is a two-day event with expert panels covering topics from trade to scholarly and educational publishing. Timed to coincide with major global book fairs London Book Fair and Beijing International Book Fair, the symposium is an unrivaled opportunity to network with industry leaders and gain insight into publishing from a global perspective.

Publishing Trips to China

The Young Publishing Professionals Trip offers an exciting opportunity for early career professionals (minimum 2 years’ experience) to take part in an organized visit to Shanghai and Beijing for two weeks with the chance to attended book fairs, visit publishing houses and media companies in China, as well as bookshops, museums and cultural sites.

Through our partnership with FLTRP, we also arrange specially tailored summer camps for our University’s publishing students. For two weeks, undergraduate and postgraduate publishing students enjoy cultural tasters at the Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU), visits to publishing houses and booksellers, as well as attend book fairs such as BIBF.
