italics
Italicise:
- books, magazines, journals, TV programmes, films, song titles and projects
- newspaper titles but don’t include ‘the’ in italics unless it is part of the title: The Times but the Guardian, the Daily Telegraph
- names of ships and aircraft.
No need to italicise:
- title of chapters or articles (they should also go in inverted commas)
- possessive apostrophes for words written in italics, eg In the Guardian’s article on…
