Team: Community Engagement TeamHourly rate: £14.31 per hour
Location: East Oxford and area surrounding Headington Campus
Contract type: Part-time (4 hours a week), casual contract
Role description: Student Community Wardens provide advice and guidance to students living in the private rented sector on how to be good neighbours and have a positive impact in their community. This role is best suited to first- and second-year students, as the contracts will start in September 2025. Student Induction Team - Student Staff Team Member
Team: Student Induction TeamHourly rate: £14.31 per hour
Location: Headington Campus
Contract type: Temporary, flexible
Role description: The Student Induction Team is the first point of contact for new students that need information about the University or advice and support. As a Student Staff Team member, you’ll help welcome new students starting at Oxford Brookes in September 2025. Responsibilities may include:
- helping new students feel prepared during their transition to Brookes
- ensuring new students have completed key tasks such as online enrolment
- responding to course induction queries
- signposting students to events, workshops and fairs during the induction period.
- distributing student cards at the collection desk
- referring students to other support services where appropriate.
International Student Helper
Team: International Student Advice Team (ISAT)Hourly rate: £14.31 per hour
Location: Oxford and Headington Campus
Contract type: Casual, temporary
Role description: Assist in welcoming new international students to campus during the September 2025 arrivals period. There may also be opportunities to support events during the semester and the January 2026 induction period. Responsibilities may include:
- running city and campus tours
- greeting new students arriving at Headington Campus by bus from the airport
- helping to direct students to halls of residence
- supporting activities for international students online or in person
- answering students’ questions about settling in
- helping with arrivals events and ISAT workshops
- supporting social media or other digital content creation.
Student Ambassador
Team: UK Recruitment TeamHourly rate: £14.31
Location: Across Oxford Brookes campuses
Contract type: zero-hour flexible
Role description: Represent the University at events throughout the year, including Open Days, Applicant Days and fairs. Support prospective students to make informed decisions around their journey into higher education, by sharing your experience of studying at Oxford Brookes.

Enrolment Team Assistant
Team: Student Advice TeamHourly rate: £14.31 per hour
Location: Headington Campus, flexible
Contract type: Flexible hours
Role description: Support new and continuing students during the upcoming enrolment period. This is an exciting opportunity to develop skills while helping students navigate the start of the academic year. Responsibilities may include:
- answering enrolment queries face-to-face and by email
- working independently and as part of a team to resolve enrolment issues
- helping students to navigate technical issues
- signposting students to other support services where appropriate.
Customer Service Advisor
Team: Accommodation TeamHourly rate: £14.31 per hour
Location: Headington Campus
Contract type: Full-time, fixed term - 11 August to 5 September 2025
Role description: Assist the Accommodation Bureau over the busy summer period by handling customer enquiries via telephone, email and online chat. Responsibilities may include:
- Handling telephone enquiries and responding to new students looking for University accommodation.
- Responding to email and online chat enquiries.
- Reassuring students and parents who may feel anxious about university processes.
- Accessing halls applications on the accommodation database.
Find a volunteering opportunity to fit around your studies
Volunteering is a great way to build your confidence and gain valuable experience while supporting the community or a cause you care about! Find opportunities on the Volunteer Portal or email volunteering@brookes.ac.uk to book an online chat with the volunteering team.The Volunteer Centre also runs a pop-up stand at the JHBB reception on Fridays between 11.30am and 2.30pm. During semester time, you can meet a range of charities at the pop-up stand and find out about their volunteering opportunities.
