About our research

Underpinned by the work of the 3 research centres, the school is at the forefront of research in a number of fields.

Research in the School of Sport, Nutrition and Allied Health Professions takes place through the Oxford Institute of Applied Health Research (OxInAHR) along with researchers located in the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery and the School of Psychology, Social Work and Public Health.

OxInAHR

The Oxford Institute of Applied Health Research (OxInAHR) is a partnership with the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, Health Education England Thames Valley, and Oxford University under the umbrella of the Oxford AHSC. It provides a multidisciplinary environment for developing clinical research careers and has a wide skill base of excellence in clinical and methodological expertise.

Research degrees

We offer a number of flexible part-time and full-time research degree opportunities including MSc by research, MPhil, PhD and PhD by published work. Research students are well supported through expert supervision, comprehensive skills training and many opportunities to interact with other researchers and students across a variety of disciplines and from different institutions.

A research degree in the School of Sport, Nutrition and Allied Health Professions allows you to develop your skills and contribute to internationally recognised research, supported by skilled staff and a vibrant research student community. We welcome applications for projects where we can support you with a supervisory team with the most relevant research experience, in Sport, Nutrition and the Allied Health Professions.
