GEARING-Roles
About us
Gender Equality Actions in Research Institutions to traNsform Gender ROLES (GEARING-Roles) is a four-year Coordination and Support Action project that brings together a pan-European group of academics and industry professionals to collaborate and exchange knowledge, good practices, and lessons learned on designing, implementing, and evaluating 6 Gender Equality Plans (GEPs). The project, therefore, has a firm objective of challenging and transforming gender roles and identities linked to professional careers, and work towards real institutional change. This multi-disciplinary, multi-national, and multi-sectorial collaboration will be supported by training, mentoring activities, awareness-raising campaigns as well as bi-annual videos and podcasts and annual networking events.
The Centre for Diversity Policy Research and Practice at Oxford Brookes University is one of the six GEP implementing partners. It will work towards three objectives which promote gender mainstreaming in research, pedagogy and practice to:
- promote and measure the inclusion of gender and feminist perspectives in research programmes and methodologies
- provide training for all faculties to support the development and integration of gender-related content and competences into undergraduate, graduate and doctoral curricula
- encourage community engagement in the promotion of gender diversity and inclusion outside the classroom and among different members on campus.
