Wonderful Wellderly World
Come explore the Wonderful Wellderly World! Join us as we celebrate all the ways wellbeing is enhanced as we gain in years.
The Festival of Social Science is an annual celebration of creative, engaging, and impactful work that social science researchers in Oxford do to help us understand and influence the world around us.
Find us in the Pitt Rivers Museum where we will be exploring the Wonderful Wellderly World through fascinating museum objects that you can handle and discussions on wellbeing and ageing.
Following on from the recent Healthy Ageing and Care Public Lecture about ageism given by Penny Thewlis (former CEO of Age UK Oxfordshire), we'll ask visitors to add their own images of things they want in their wellderly future to a big group collage, to counter both the negative images around ageing (for example ageist birthday cards) and the sometimes equally alienating super-senior images (the mountain climber). Come check out what our visitors dream up and add your own wellderly world idea!
