Throughout the lecture series, students will explore key trends in engineering, from the evolution of electric vehicles and F1 aerodynamics to sustainable technologies and the impact of AI and VR in design and manufacturing. Thanks to our strong connections with Formula 1 teams, automotive manufacturers and technology companies, we regularly welcome prestigious guest speakers who bring invaluable expertise and industry perspectives.
Open to all engineering students, the Industrial Lecture Series runs throughout the academic year. Expert speakers come from Formula 1 teams such as Ferrari, McLaren, Aston Martin, BWT Alpine, Williams, Red Bull and Mercedes, along with professionals from leading engineering and technology firms, including Rolls-Royce, BMW, Jaguar Land Rover, PERRINN 424, MoTec, NIO, Xtrac, Chelton, Kier Construction, International Data Centre Group and Smedley Group, among many others.
A wonderful feature of our lecture series is the participation of Oxford Brookes alumni, who return to share their career journeys since graduating. Some have recently launched their careers, while others now hold key leadership positions in innovative and high-impact sectors. Their experiences provide invaluable career insights, networking opportunities and industry connections for our students.
As well as delivering inspirational and informative talks, the Industrial Lecture Series serves as an excellent careers platform for our students, with many speakers offering internships, placements and graduate job opportunities.
