Oxford Brookes University has a community of around 4,000 postgraduates.
Students come from more than 90 countries worldwide. Oxford Brookes Business School values the academic and cultural contribution international students bring to its master's programmes.
Recognising that international students may have particular concerns about studying and living overseas, a network of support services, in addition to the academic support provided by your personal tutor, has been developed to provide assistance and guidance.
International Student Advice Team
The International Student Advice Team sends all international students a 'pre-arrival guide' to help prepare you for study in the UK. It contains information on accommodation and a booking form. Staff from the International Office and Business School make regular visits overseas. You can find out if we are due to come to your country by visiting the overseas visits page.
English language requirements
If your first language is not English, you must show the University that your level of English is high enough to study at postgraduate level. Please check individual programme pages for details of the specific requirements.
Visas and Immigration
If you require a visa to study in the UK you can find out more about visas and immigration.
Pre-master's courses and pre-sessional English
If you want to boost your confidence, improve your study skills and meet the language requirements for your hospitality master's, you can take an Oxford Brookes pre-master's course. You will develop your reading and research skills, learn how to participate effectively in seminars, and conduct an extended writing project. You will also improve your subject knowledge in your chosen academic field.
If you only need to raise your English level to meet the requirements of your degree you should take our pre-sessional English course. If you pass with satisfactory grades you will not need to retake a language test like IELTS to progress to your degree.
Programme Administrators will advise you on these courses.
Accommodation
Oxford Brookes University guarantees international postgraduate students accommodation in halls of residence, providing applications are received on time. However, several private alternatives are available around the city.
Working in the UK after graduation
The UK Council for International Student Affairs provides information about working in the UK after completing your degree.
We value the academic and cultural contribution made by international students to the university and to our master's degrees. The global nature of our programmes makes your input vital.
