Special Recognitions
We also celebrated some individuals for their contribution to TEAMBrookes.
Nick Wykes, American Football
“Coach Wykes has coached this team for over a decade now and he’s been with us through thick and thin. He makes time for each player if they need it and works hard for each player to achieve their potential. Having had seasons with mixed results didn’t waver his enthusiasm for coaching and developing young athletes into independent and socially aware young adults.
His commitment to the team and university over the past decade has gone under the radar and he has always insisted on staying out of the limelight… however, we believe that as he has now stepping away from coaching and the team we believe his work should be appreciated.”
James Boardman & Fergus Lawrie, Men's Rugby Union
Completed a 24-hour lifting challenge raising over £1,000 for Oxfordshire Mind. Lifted a total of 1,544,924kg!
George Sampa (Football), Connor Weaver (Badminton) & Kimberly Slessor (Football, Water Polo & Ice Hockey)
Krystal Wasike, Cheerleading
Helped massively with the running of the Brookes Sport social media on BUCS Wednesdays!
It's hard to truly capture and celebrate everyone that make Brookes Sport and TEAMBrookes what it is, so we thank everyone who has played a part in the 2022/23 season. We can't wait for next year!
