Teams

Our Men's and Women's Football Clubs welcome players of all abilities, offering numerous opportunities to compete at various levels or simply enjoy the game for fun. All teams train and play their matches at Brookes Sport, Harcourt.

Men's teams

Oxford Brookes has three Men's Football Teams competing in various Midlands leagues within the British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) framework.

Women's teams

Oxford Brookes Women's Football has one competitive team that, following a successful 2023/24 season, will compete in Tier 2 of the Midlands, British Universities & Colleges Sport (BUCS) League. There is also a Women's 2nd Development Team that plays in the Oxford University Inter-College Football League.

You can meet the Football Clubs and all our Student Sports Clubs at the Sports Fair on Wednesday 18 September 2024, during Freshers Week at Brookes Sport, Headington.

Most clubs hold trials and taster sessions after the Sports Fair. If you miss the Sports Fair or want to join later in the year, feel free to contact the club directly via social media.

TEAMBrookes Membership Fees

The cost of joining any Student Sports Club is £160 for the 2024/25 academic year, which equates to approximately £6.15 per week of the sporting calendar. This fee is required for each Sports Club you compete for. This cost includes the essentials required to play your sport and access appropriate support.

Exemptions and fee waivers

Those in receipt of a Brookes Bursary or International Hardship Award for 2024/25 are exempt from paying the £160. If this applies to you, please complete this application form and provide the required confirmation.

Those selected as TEAMBrookes Sports Scholars are also waived of the requirement to make the £160 payment, as part of the performance support provided.

BUCS Football Accreditation 2022-23 - Star Rating

For the 2023/24 season the Oxford Brookes Football provision was awarded a 1-star rating through the BUCS Football Accreditation model.

This rating recognises the following achievements:

Participation: Separate participation offers for male and female students (inclusive for any students with disabilities)
Lead: Paid or volunteer workforce opportunities for male and female students
Compete: BUCS men’s or women’s football and/or futsal teams.
