The free language module is only available to students enrolled concurrently on a foundation, undergraduate, postgraduate or research programme of study at Oxford Brookes University (excluding partner colleges). Full-time undergraduate or postgraduate students can take one free language module per calendar year. Part-time undergraduate or postgraduate students can take one free language module every two calendar years. Please note, Academic English modules offered by the Centre for Academic Development also count as free language modules.
For instance, if your academic year starts in September, then you can take one free language module either commencing in September or starting in January. If you wish to study a language in both semesters, then you will have to pay for the second one. Similarly, if your academic year starts in January, you can take one free language module either starting in January or September. Adding a language module to both semesters will incur a fee. For further information on fees, please contact Student Finance (finance-fees@brookes.ac.uk).
All our modules are taught mainly face-to-face on Headington Campus - therefore you cannot enrol if you are a distance learner.
Enrolment is subject to availability of places on the language modules and individual programme requirements. Please note many classes are very popular and class numbers are limited so places are allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
