We recognise that life at university can bring its own challenges and the Student Welfare and Support Advice Team is available to support you if you are going through a particularly difficult time.
We offer support to students in crisis or if you are experiencing serious circumstances that are affecting your studies. We offer short-term emotional and practical support, including signposting to other services, with the aim of enabling you to find ways of managing the situation and moving forward. We will listen, explore options with you, talk with you about strategies that might be helpful, and make sure you know about other services that could be useful.
If you are concerned about another student, you can contact us to talk through your concerns in confidence (unless we believe that you or the other student are at risk of harm to yourself or other people, when we might need to break confidentiality).
If you feel you need non-academic support but are not sure what is available or appropriate, we can offer a brief conversation to help you understand what to do next.
We also respond to reports submitted on the Report and Support Form, where you can report an incident of harassment, hate crime or sexual violence.
