For most undergraduate students, the academic year is split into two semesters. Each semester consists of a teaching period followed by examinations.
The enrolment and induction week in Semester 1 is for first year students only. Undergraduate students must:
- ensure they are available for all periods marked as teaching and examinations
- be ready to be available during re-sit examination periods.
Students on other programmes (including taught postgraduate programmes, and undergraduate programmes in the School of Education which run to a termly calendar) may have similar commitments to those described in these calendars. You should contact your Faculty for more information, including the confirmed schedule of examinations for your programme.
Courses that have a significant practice component may fall outside of normal semester dates.
