Induction events for new students

Induction and networking events for new research students for the 2024-25 academic year.

October 2024 - Semester 1

Date and time:  Tuesday 1 October from 3.00 - 5.00pm

Location: TBC

Resources to see before the induction: all the materials you need to see can be downloaded from the Research training Moodle site. Please make sure you have signed in beforehand.

Presenter: Professor Susan Brooks, Director of Researcher Development

This session is compulsory for all new research students as it introduces many essential aspects of studying for a research degree at Oxford Brookes University. This includes advice on what is involved, how to officially register your project, goals and milestones, how to plan your time and keep up momentum and supervisor-student relationships. It introduces new research students to policies, people, support and resources – such as library resources and the generic skills training programme – that will help ensure your success.

There will be time for networking and light refreshments during this event.
