New Support to Study Policy - helping you succeed

Following a successful pilot in Semester 1, the University is introducing a new Support to Study Policy. Tamsin Kershaw-Murphy, Deputy Director Academic and Student Administration (Student Services), shares how the new policy works and what you need to do.
The Support to Study Policy is in place to ensure you can access the help you need if personal challenges are affecting your studies. The revised policy makes it easier for you to access the proper support at the right time, whether you’re struggling with health issues, personal circumstances, or other challenges that may impact your university experience. What’s new?
Based on feedback from students and staff, we replaced the previous Fitness to Study Policy with the Support to Study Policy. Improvements include:- a clear process for identifying and accessing the right support
- more ways for you to connect with wellbeing and academic support services
- better coordination between different University services to provide you with the help you need.
How it works
If you’re finding it difficult to keep up with your studies due to personal circumstances, your lecturers, Academic Advisor or student support staff may guide you through the Support to Study process. This means working together to create a plan that helps you stay on track while prioritising your wellbeing. What you need to do
We encourage all students to be aware of this support and reach out if they need help. If you think you could benefit from the Support to Study Policy, speak to your Academic Advisor, Student Support Co-ordinator, or contact Student Support Services at studentsupportservices@brookes.ac.uk.Your success and wellbeing matters, and our student support teams are here to help you every step of the way.
