Would you like to hear about the career journeys of researchers who have effectively navigated the transition from PhD or fixed-term contract to careers both within and beyond academia? Would you like the opportunity to reflect on what's important to you in your future career and think about how your research fits into the context of your wider life and next career steps? Look no further. The University is holding its biennial Researcher Career Pathways Event on Friday 19th January 2024, from 10am to 12:30pm (online, in Zoom Webinar).
This event is for all Research Students and Research-Only Staff.
The event will be hosted by Professor Susan Brooks, Director of Researcher Development. There will be two Q&A panels, comprising researchers who post-PhD have gone on to have successful and fulfilling careers in both academic and non-academic professions. We'll be quizzing the panels on the key decisions they made in their careers so far, where following their passions has taken them and what they do to maintain that all-important work-life balance.
Format:
- 2.5 hour online workshop hosted by Director of Researcher Development
- 2 panels - Academia & Beyond Academia
