Our Oxford based teaching clinic offers physiotherapy services provided by physiotherapy students, supervised by Registered Physiotherapists. By being a patient here, you support the development of future physiotherapists.

We provide affordable and accessible physiotherapy, ensuring you receive the care you need while supporting the development of future healthcare professionals. Our facilities include private treatment rooms/bays, and a rehabilitation gym area.

Services we offer

At the Oxford Brookes physiotherapy teaching clinic our skilled students, supervised by Registered Physiotherapists, provide care for a range of musculoskeletal or sports related health conditions. We offer:

Before your visit, you'll be screened through a triage system to ensure we can help with your condition.

Appointments

  • Our physiotherapy clinic is open to university staff, students, and the general public (over 16).
  • No referral needed.
  • Payment is taken through the online booking system and is required prior to attendance.
  • Your assessment and treatment will be conducted by our physiotherapy students, supervised by Registered Physiotherapists.
  • After an initial assessment, a personal treatment plan will be developed for you, this could include hands on treatment, exercise and general physical health / wellbeing advice.
  • A physiotherapy assessment must be completed prior to the commencement of treatment.
  • Members of Brookes Sport teams book your session with Ella and choose the relevant tier of pricing when booking (based on the competing level of your team).

Meet the team

The practice based learning team overseeing Oxford Brookes Physiotherapy Clinic include Dr Jon Room, Katy Baines and Jo Pierce. The registered physiotherapists working in the clinic include Dr Daniel Garnett and Ella Sissons.

Dr Daniel Garnett

Dr Daniel Garnett is an experienced Sports Physiotherapist in multiple sports codes with a PhD focused on concussion injury prevention and a postgraduate Masters degree in Exercise and Sports Physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town. He is registered with the HCPC and CSP and is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) with over 20 years of clinical and academic experience.

Ella Sissons

Ella Sissons is a Chartered Sports Physiotherapist with HCPC and CSP registration and is the Lead Sports Physiotherapist for Brookes Sport. She has extensive experience in sports settings, including working with England Boxing and as the Head of Medical for Oxford Harlequins. Ella has a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science, an MSc in Physiotherapy and is currently studying an MSc Sports Physiotherapy.

How to find the physiotherapy clinic

The Oxford Brookes physiotherapy clinic is based in a dedicated building on the University’s Oxford Brookes Marston Road site, accessible via Jack Straw Lane.

Limited parking on campus may be available; vehicle registration details will be required at time of visit.
