“I really enjoyed working with people from different cultures which I think it is most important transferable skills we learn from universities in the highly globalised world.”
Why did you choose to come to Oxford?
The city of Oxford is renowned in the world as an ultimate destination for further education. I was particularly impressed by the fact that the city is truly multi-cultural, a pioneer in fair-trade and rich in heritage. Moreover, the temptation of being part of vibrant and multi-cultural student city that inspires young international student like myself to explore both academic and professional opportunities ahead was the key decision factor.
What parts of your course do you most enjoy?
I really liked the idea of group work and opportunity to take placement year to gain industrial experience before completion of the degree. I truly enjoyed international consultancy project where a group of 6 students from Oxford completed international collaborative project with a group of students from Dijon (Burgundy Business School). I really enjoyed working with people from different cultures which I think it is most important transferable skills we learn from universities in the highly globalised world.
Apart from on-campus experience, I had an opportunity to gain industry experience in the field of consulting and corporate education during my placement year. I was able to transfer my learning from the university to my workplace to add values to my clients from Fortune 500 companies. The whole four-year experience at Brookes was great personal development journey for me.
What is your experience of living in Oxford?
The best thing about Oxford is the youthful and lively atmosphere the city provides. I really enjoyed networking with people from different walk of life, from different nations. I also enjoyed participating in events like TEDx, Oxford Literary Festival and the restaurants in Cowley offers varieties of world cuisine which is hard to find in other cities in the UK.
