South Korea, Pre-Master's followed by MSc Project Management in the Built Environment
“The Pre-Master's teachers encouraged students who had difficulty expressing themselves to voice their opinions. At the end, all the students had plenty of self-confidence.”
The Pre-Master’s course enabled me to become used to the UK education system. One of the most beneficial parts of the course were the one-to-one tutorials with my academic advisor/lecturers. These helped me with a range of skills including academic English, critical thinking, presentation skills and reading skills.
All the Pre-Master’s teachers brought a wealth of experience. In particular, the teachers encouraged students who had difficulty expressing themselves to voice their opinions. At the end, all the students had plenty of self-confidence. In addition to this, the Pre-Master’s teachers gave lots of attention to those students who had problems.
I am now doing a master’s in Project Management in the Built Environment. What I like most about my course is that there are various lecturers who specialise in different fields, which means I can be aware of a number of different perspectives of my field of study. They are also friendly in answering students’ queries by either an email or face-to-face meetings.
The main reason why I decided to study at Oxford Brookes University is that, unlike any other universities, it provides opportunities for students to study a wide range of aspects of Project Management while being taught to consider its environmental consequences. In addition, my course provided a European field trip to the Netherlands. It was a great opportunity to integrate knowledge from lectures and live case studies. I am highly satisfied with my course.
Oxford is the best city for students, particularly for international students. About 24% of the city’s adult population are students, which is the highest proportion in England. It is a relatively small and cosy city, and there are many beautiful parks. There is nothing better than reading books and listening to music in the parks. Plus, Oxford is one of the safest cities in the UK.
After my master’s I would like to gain a job related to my field of study because this work experience would be valuable and practical. Plus, I am keen on further studying the English language; therefore, I plan to participate in a language course in Oxford.
