BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying and Commercial Management

Oxford Brookes offered the balance of technical learning and practical application I was looking for
The programme’s focus on industry-ready skills and hands-on experience meant I could start making a difference right after graduation. The industry expertise and the opportunity for summer placements were also deciding factors for me.

Completing the course in three years with two summer placements was challenging
but it gave me a head start in the field. The placements meant I could apply what I was learning straight away and build connections in the industry. It was intense but well worth it. I came out of university with experience that helped me transition more smoothly into my current role as a Senior Quantity Surveyor at McBains.

The course taught me both the technical aspects of quantity surveying and practical project management skills
Working on case studies, for instance, helped me prepare for real project scenarios. It built my confidence to engage in problem-solving and teamwork on live projects, which has been invaluable in my career so far.

I've been with Queens Park Rangers (QPR) Football Club since I was 14
Growing up with the club and developing my game across the years. Nearly 13 years later, now at almost 27, I’ve built an invaluable foundation here, learning and evolving alongside some incredible teammates and coaches. There was a two-year period at Oxford United during my university years, which allowed me to broaden my experience and step outside my comfort zone. This extended tenure has not only shaped me as a player but also provided me with lifelong skills and friendships that extend well beyond the pitch.
