MSc Finance

Oxford Brookes University was recognised

As one of the top 50 universities in the United Kingdom it really appealed to me. I saw Oxford Brookes also had competitive tuition fees which also helped me to make my mind up to study the MSc Finance course.

I’ve particularly enjoyed studying Corporate Finance and International Finance

The Corporate finance module helped push me to my analytical limits that I did not know I could reach. International Finance was initially confusing for me, but became more enjoyable when things got clearer with constant practice and by applying myself to the tasks.

I’ve had study partners during my course

On the course we were a group of 4, and we occasionally met to solve questions on modules such as Quantitative Finance and International Finance. I’ve also made some lifelong friends on the cohort outside of the study group. It’s a friendly environment with easy access to all tutors. Unfortunately, the course did not have the option for a placement during my study, but it's good to know it does now.

The course has given me…

a stronger foundation on which to pivot to a career in Finance and has helped me to improve my perspective and sense of direction. My plan is to become a portfolio manager in an Asset Management firm and then advance to the position of Managing Director/Partner in the near future. However, the objective is to work in an entry level finance position in the interim, advance through the ranks, and earn some professional credentials in the process. Then I will relocate to Ghana and put my knowledge and skills to use.
