MSc Management and Business Analytics

The course drew my attention towards Oxford Brookes

When I compared this course with other courses there was no match, as it offered the modules that I  wanted to learn. I also spoke with many current Oxford Brookes students at that time and it helped to persuade me that it was possible to pursue postgraduate study and it really motivated me as well.

I like all of the modules

The Practice of Data Analysis is the module which I enjoyed the most. In this module we were taught the R language for data analytics, a free, open source statistical programming language, which is very in demand across the industry.I also learned how to code, make visualisations and approach data analytics with this language. This was a fun class for me and we also got free pizza as well.

The tutors are easy to contact

And they have dedicated office hours available for all the students on the course. You can talk to them after the class or book time with them in their hours for advice and guidance. There is also a course chat group in which you can communicate with the tutors and you can also email them as well. The cohort of students are friendly and fun loving. In class we have group activities from time to time and we love that. I have made friends in and out of class as well.

We had an Experiential learning week during the first semester

We chose one activity from a range of activities that included::

  • Cloud Skills Boost Day - AWS Academy
  • Financial Markets with Bloomberg
  • Social Change Challenge - sustainable fashion!
  • Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park visit
  • Strategic Planning in Practice
  • Developing a Sustainability Mindset event
  • Employability workshop event.

I selected the Cloud Skills Boost day by AWS Academy, a digital learning platform that offers a variety of resources to help users learn cloud skills which are essential for Business Analysts. I’m really thankful to the University for this opportunity and we also had free pizza, which was good. I want to upscale my analytics knowledge and showcase my skills and learning to potential employers. After graduating, I want to work as a Business Analyst.
