Chile, Pre-sessional English followed by LLM International Law
“Oxford Brookes University was fantastic and I am grateful because now I achieved my third goal.”
Previous to my LLM, I took a pre-sessional English course, which was very useful in preparing me for my master. Coming from a different academic style and not being fluent-native English speaker in the beginning, it contributed greatly to improving my academic skills and language requirements for my master degree that was the main goal. In addition, it encouraged my confidence with the challenges of the University and the new academic environment. It was a great decision and I would recommend it to everyone.
With respect to the LLM programme, I believe it is really well designed and the teachers are well prepared. The class was a small group, which was great to have better and easier communication and participation in lectures. Moreover, my classmates came from different countries and backgrounds, which was necessary to generate critical debate in the classroom and to observe different viewpoints regarding how to face international cases.
All this experience at Oxford Brookes University was fantastic and I am grateful because now I achieved my third goal, which is being working in a prestigious law firm in London as a member of the International Arbitration / Insurance & Reinsurance group. This later experience allows me not only to improve and develop new skills, but also to put in practice my LLM knowledge.
