Supervision

I am currently supervising a PhD student specialising in Corporate Governance. I am keen to collaborate with students who are passionate about research in Corporate Governance, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Sustainability, particularly those with an interest in qualitative or mixed-method approaches.

Research

My research centres on Corporate Governance, with a particular emphasis on institutional investors' engagement with their investee companies—a focus I developed during my PhD studies. I currently have an article under review that examines the effectiveness of the UK Stewardship Code for asset managers. Additionally, I am collaborating with colleagues on research in sustainability, risk reporting, and Corporate Governance, aiming to produce high-quality publications in these areas.

Research impact

My research has significant implications for both academia and practice, particularly in the fields of Corporate Governance, sustainability, and risk reporting. By examining institutional investors' engagement strategies and the effectiveness of frameworks like the UK Stewardship Code, my work enhances understanding of accountability and responsible ownership practices. In the area of risk reporting, my research explores the societal factors that influence trust in financial disclosures, with a particular focus on the UK banking sector. This work contributes to improving transparency and fostering confidence in regulatory regimes. Beyond academic contributions, my research informs policymakers and industry practitioners, offering actionable insights into governance, sustainability, and disclosure practices. Through collaboration with colleagues, I aim to bridge the gap between research and practice, shaping policies and strategies for sustainable corporate behaviour and effective risk communication.
