Research
I currently conduct research on globalisation, ritual, and embodiment in Shin Buddhism. I have previously conducted research on gender relations in the workplace in Japan; Japanese new religions; understandings of "unnatural death" and attitudes to the body in the context of autopsy and death investigation in Japan and England; and the anthropology of branding.
