Julie in her academic role has been responsible for designing and delivering management courses on organisational behaviour, management and research methods. This has been to courses of Undergraduates, Masters and MBA students around the world and has included distance learning packages.

Julie has performed a blend of business based and academic based roles. These have centred on management including change management, personal and professional development, research methods and organisational behaviour and leadership.

Consultancy
For the Department of Trade and Industry Business Links: Julie performed training and development of Business Links advisors from all over the UK regarding succession planning in small businesses. The work focussed on assessing the risks in succession situations and the development of succession action plans. Julie facilitated the development of change management skills in advisors dealing with complex family and succession situations.

Julie has been involved in the running of an automotive engineering business, a service and repairs business and a soft furnishing enterprise, holding the post of Company Secretary and Managing Director participating in the management decisions to turn the businesses around.
The engineering business has successfully obtained funding from both the Niche Vehicle Funding Network and Innovate UK.
