Research

My research is mostly centered around the concept of entrepreneurial opportunities. I look at how different factors impact the creation/recognition of business opportunities. Along those lines, I've conducted research on the definitions and measures researchers used to study entrepreneurial opportunities, how opportunity recognition can be studied from the perspective of creativity and how social entrepreneurial opportunities are different. More recently I've looked at the impact that natural disasters have on entrepreneurship. Specifically, to understand how natural disasters affect the perception of opportunities by those affected and how entrepreneurial theory can help explain the behavior of informal volunteers who decide to act after a natural disaster.

I've also looked at how exposure to technology influences entrepreneurial intentions in university students.
