Mrs Gwen Macknamara

Gwen’s role at Oxford Brookes University is to collaborate with, support and train Teacher Mentors in school and Lead Mentors visiting trainees on placement. She also teaches Professional Studies for the BA undergraduate ITE programme. Gwen’s passion for mentoring began through her own experiences working with ECTs and colleagues in primary schools in Oxfordshire. She is an experienced teacher and phase leader across KS1 and KS2. Prior to teaching, Gwen studied Biology and brought her enthusiasm into subject leadership for Science and Forest School. Previous roles also include Phonics Lead and Staff Governor. She gained a NASENCo qualification here at Oxford Brookes University.
