Role
Alayna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from the United States. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies from Indiana University and her Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from The George Warren Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. Her background is in mental health practice with children and families.
Over the course of her career she has worked in respite care for children in need, supported young mothers with parenting skills, helped parents and children navigate divorce in the family, lead therapy groups for children at schools, and carried a large caseload of children as a mental health therapist. Alayna is also working towards a certification in Play Therapy and sees clients through the Owl Centre for Independent Therapy.
Alayna joined Brookes in January 2020 as a Teaching Fellow in Social Work. Her role includes teaching across all cohorts, supporting students as an academic advisor and dissertation supervisor, working on the admissions team, and coordinating skills days.
