Professor Tim Vorley appointed Fellow of the Chartered Association of Business Schools
Pro Vice-Chancellor of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, Professor Tim Vorley, has been recognised as a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Business Schools.
Chartered ABS Fellowships are awarded to individuals who have made an outstanding and sustained contribution to our mission to provide support for the UK's business schools. Fellows are nominated from academia and from those we engage from fields such as industry and public policy.Tim was awarded the honour for being “a true champion for the role of business schools in supporting small businesses, student entrepreneurship and local growth”, at a ceremony held on 4 November at the Chartered ABS Annual Conference. Tim was recognised alongside fellow awardees, Professor Robert MacIntosh, University of the West of Scotland, Professor Cathy Cassell, Durham University Business School, Professor Heather McLaughlin, De Montfort University, and Michael Hayman MBE DL, Seven Hills.
Tim was also the Vice Chair of the Small Business Charter, which was developed 10 years ago by Lord David Young, the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, and the Chartered Association of Business Schools, to signpost entrepreneurs, small businesses, and local economic stakeholders to business schools in their region with the expertise to help them thrive.
Professor Vorley said: “It’s a real honour to be named as a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Business Schools. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed serving as the Vice-Chair of the Small Business Charter and contributing to its success, including the scaling of the Government’s flagship Help to Grow programme. I will remain an avid supporter of the Small Business Charter.
