Events Management students gain summer festival work experience
Many Events Management students are once again working with our employer connections at Ticketmaster on some of this summer’s biggest live events.
Ticketmaster, part of Live Nation entertainment, is a global leader in live entertainment, bringing 40,000 shows and more than 100 festivals to life. They have sold 500 million tickets per year.
First year BA (Hons) Marketing and Events Management student Tilly Redman recently worked as part of an onsite ticketing team. Tilly managed the customer requirements in the venue box office, and sometimes helped manage VIP access and worked on the ticket lanes at a range of high profile events.
Tilly said: “I am absolutely loving it! It’s been amazing, I’ve met some lovely people and been to some pretty cool places. The insight it’s given me is really good too.”
“I have thrown myself into every shift that I can get to, including Creamfields, Beyoncé, Harry Styles, Crystal Palace Park and Chepstow Festival. I’m off to Bestival at the end of this month, and hopefully to the Reading Festival too!”
Senior Lecturer in Events Management, Alan McBlane, said: ”This is the second year that we’ve worked with Ticketmaster on their amazing portfolio of events. This is a fantastic opportunity for our students to get first-hand experience as part of the Ticketmaster Team”.
Oxford Brookes Business School students are supported by the Work and Voluntary Experience Services (WAVES) team and lecturers to secure work placements and experience at a range of employers linked to our four subject areas.
