Events Management graduate wins AEME Undergraduate Student of the Year
Recent undergraduate Events Management graduate, Racheal Hillier Williams (nee Wilson), is celebrating another honour this year, having won the Association of Events Management Educators (AEME) Undergraduate Student of the Year Award.
Nominated students from across the country were judged across a range of achievements, including; academic achievement and progress, and market and professional focus.
The Association for Events Management Education (AEME) aims to advance events education and research within the UK and overseas.
Racheal was delighted by this most recent accolade, which adds to her Oxford Brookes Business School Dean’s List and Events Management Student of the Year Award at the graduation ceremony earlier this year.
Racheal commented:
“Wow! I am incredibly honoured to receive this award. I was unaware that I was nominated and it was a very pleasant surprise. I've never thought of my efforts as being anything above the norm, but always made sure I applied myself to the best of my abilities, driven by my passion for events. So to be recognised in this way makes me very proud indeed.
Thank you to Alan McBlane, Senior Lecturer in Events Management, for nominating me. It's very nice to know that he believed in me in this way. He has always supported me throughout my time at university, answered all my questions, and challenged me academically to be more than I thought I could be. Thank you too for your efforts in forging a way to highlight and identify those within the events management world. It is greatly appreciated.
The events industry is amazing, fast-paced, and exciting and I'm glad I chose to be a part of it. I can't wait to see what the future holds.”
Alan added:
“We’re all delighted to see Racheal recognised for the incredible amount of hard work and application she has put into her time with us at Oxford Brookes. This award is not only recognition for Racheal but for our Events Management course and we look forward to following her progress into a dynamic and fast growing industry.”
