Frankie Allen celebrates a Golden debut at the Paralympic Games
Oxford Brookes University rower Frankie Allen won a Gold medal on day four of the Paralympic Games, marking a sensational 14-year unbeaten streak for the Great Britain PR3 Mixed coxed four crew.
Frankie and her crewmates powered their way to Gold on Saturday at the Vaires-sur-Marne Nautical Stadium in Paris. The victory means that the Great Britain PR3 Mixed coxed four boat has won straight Paralympic Gold medals in 2012, 2016, 2020 and now 2024.
The Mixed Coxed Four win capped off the most successful Paralympics Games ever for British rowing, with all four ParalympicsGB crews coming away with medals - three Gold and one Silver.
Frankie and her crew won their Gold medal by a margin of just over three seconds against the United States, with host nation France coming in third.
Richard Spratley, Director of Rowing at Oxford Brookes University Boat Club, said: "Frankie’s achievements at the Paralympic Games is a testament to her incredible talent, dedication, and hard work.
“Her journey from Oxford Brookes to the pinnacle of Paralympic sport is an inspiration to us all, and her success continues to drive forward our tradition of excellence in rowing.”

Frankie, aged 22 and from Wallingford in Oxfordshire, has been studying Physiotherapy at Oxford Brookes since 2020.
Soon after starting at Oxford Brookes, Frankie trialled for the GB Para Rowing Team. She quickly formed a strong partnership with her Paralympics crewmate Giedre Rakauskaite to become a double World Champion in the Mixed Fours and PR3 Women’s Pair at the 2022 World Rowing Championships, at the same time breaking a world record in the Mixed Four contest. In 2023, Frankie and Giedre broke their own record at the World Rowing Cup II 2023, and successfully defended their World Rowing Championship title.
Richard added: “We couldn't be prouder of Frankie’s historic gold medal and the remarkable legacy she is now a part of in British sport."
