An open day for businesses is set to offer Oxfordshire companies the chance to learn how the Oxford Brookes Business School can help them with growth and innovation.

The event, which takes place on Thursday 12 September, features a series of workshops focused on the latest advancements in technology, artificial intelligence, innovation, and marketing analytics. Business leaders can also book 15-minute surgery slots to discuss their specific needs with Oxford Brookes specialists.

Other highlights include:

Coaching and mentoring courses: The International Centre for Coaching and Mentoring Studies at Oxford Brookes Business School will showcase its range of courses designed for business professionals interested in enhancing their leadership and mentoring skills.

Help to Grow: Management Programme: Representatives from Oxford Brookes Business School’s Help to Grow management course will be available to discuss this government-backed, 12-week programme that has already benefited 200 business leaders. Help to Grow was developed by experts at the Small Business Charter accredited business schools, including the Oxford Brookes Business School, to help Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SMEs) develop the resilience and performance of their businesses. Oxford Brookes' recognition with the Small Business Charter highlights its commitment to supporting local SMEs.

Student engagement opportunities: The Business School’s Work and Voluntary Experience Services (WAVES) team will be on hand to discuss placement opportunities for students, offering businesses innovative ways to engage with Oxford Brookes' student community.

Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP): OxLEP is responsible for driving economic growth across Oxfordshire. At the event OxLEP representatives will present the wide array of business support services available across the county, providing valuable insights for local enterprises.

Energy management services: Experts will be available to discuss externally funded opportunities that are currently free for businesses. Oxford Brookes can provide energy reduction management services to businesses; the team often works with local authorities and others to provide these without cost.

Professor Tim Vorley, Pro Vice-Chancellor and Dean of Oxford Brookes Business School, said: “I’m thrilled that we are hosting our first Open Day for Businesses. This event is a fantastic opportunity for the business community to visit our campus and discover the many ways in which we can collaborate.

“Local businesses play such a crucial role in the Business School, from guest lecturing to providing invaluable opportunities for our students. It’s great to be holding a day that highlights the multitude of ways we can help them.”
