Oxford Brookes University to showcase cutting-edge AI research at free week-long festival
Oxford Brookes University will be showcasing the most recent developments and breakthroughs in artificial intelligence research at its annual Festival of AI this week.
The festival runs from today until 7 June and includes a series of free workshops that will explore how AI can revolutionise schools, business and society.
Kicking off the festival on the afternoon of the first day, Fabio Cuzzollin, Professor of Artificial Intelligence at Oxford Brookes is unveiling the Oxford Brookes Institute for AI, Data Analysis and Systems (AIDAS).
Day two of the festival, which is ‘Schools Day’, will put a spotlight on the 32-month Knowledge Transfer partnership between the University and Oxfordshire estate Blenheim Palace, which is working on transforming the historic estate into a ‘smart’ visitor attraction.
David Green, Head of Innovations at Blenheim Palace, will present to school children how the venue uses AI to predict visitor numbers, how they track visitor movements to enhance their experience, and how they plan on utilising AI to predict building issues.

Wednesday 5 June - ‘AI in Business’, and ‘Networking event: AI speed dating for researchers’.
Thursday 6 June - ‘Artificial Inspiration: Creative and Artistic Futures with AI’
Friday 7 June - ‘Data Challenge Showcase’ and then a closing panel with farewell drinks
