Oxford Brookes pays tribute to Director of Sport, Keith Kelly
We are deeply saddened to announce that our friend and colleague Keith Kelly has passed away peacefully after a period of illness.
Keith started working at Brookes initially in 1997 as a Sports Amenities Steward. He returned as a Sports Marketing Officer in 2005, following a period of time working at England Rugby, and became the University’s Director of Sport in 2008.During his time as Director of Sport, Keith was instrumental in enhancing the sport offer at Brookes including, alongside Director of Rowing Richard Spratley, the University’s world-class rowing club.
Prior to joining the University, Keith saw personal sporting success representing Wales at a national level in basketball, a sport he continued to enjoy throughout his life.
The University will support members of the Brookes community who have been affected by this difficult news and our thoughts and condolences are with Keith's family and friends.
A book of condolences is now available to sign online and a book will be available to sign at the reception area at both Brookes Sport, Sport Centres at Headington and Harcourt Hill from Monday 29 April. The online form and the books will remain available until Friday 31 May. Details of how the University will celebrate Keith's life will be shared in due course.
