Good University Guide: Oxford Brookes climbs in ranking
Oxford Brookes University has climbed two places in The Times and Sunday Times Good University Guide 2022.
Placed in 54th position out of 132 institutions, this marks a climb of ten places in the past two years.
Oxford Brookes is now ranked 8th in the South East region. The results also see Oxford Brookes ranked in 30th place nationally for its student-staff ratio, placing it in the top 25% of universities for this measure.
15 subjects move up ranking
The University is ranked in 35 of the subject tables, with 15 subjects improving their ranking in the guide. Hospitality and Leisure is in the top 25% for its subject area, climbing 15 places to 11th position.
The biggest rises came for Computer Science (up 34 places), Music (up 29 places) and Education (up 26 places).
Subjects also improving their position were Anatomy and Physiology (up 3 places), Anthropology (up 3), Art and Design (up 7), Biological Sciences (up 15), Food Science (up 1), History of Art (up 6), Law (up 4), Nursing (up 17), Philosophy (up 5), Physiotherapy (up 13) and Sports Science (up 8 places).
Focus on high-quality teaching
Professor Alistair Fitt, Vice-Chancellor of Oxford Brookes University said: “I’m very proud of the whole Oxford Brookes community, who have adapted to new ways of learning and working across a challenging 18 months.

The Times and The Sunday Times Good University Guide ranked 132 UK universities using measures such as the quality of teaching, student experience and graduate prospects.
