Developing Parent Education & Support Strategies in Youth Sport
Join us for an evening with Dr Sam Thrower and Professor Chris Harwood on developing parent education and support strategies in youth sport.
Come join us for an insightful evening at Oxford Brookes University where Dr Sam Thrower and Professor Chris Harwood will share their expertise on how to engage and support parents in optimising their involvement in the youth sport journey. They will provide a behind-the-scenes look at how the Lawn Tennis Association developed the UK’s first evidence-based sport parent education and support programme and the impact this strategy has had on parenting confidence, emotions, and behaviours.
Attendees will gain insights into parents' needs and the support strategies that facilitate positive parental involvement. Following the talk, there will be a social event (with food and wine provided) offering an opportunity to ask questions and further discuss how such work could be developed and transferred to other youth sports. This event is a great opportunity for students, researchers, practitioners, coaches, and youth sport organisations to gain valuable insights from two renowned experts in the field.
