Picturebooks for All

Join Mat Tobin to explore what makes pictures in picturebooks such a rich ground for discussion.

Illustration by Jason Chin from the picturebook, Watercress (2021), by Andrea Wang & Jason Chin. Published by Holiday House.

Exploring how pictures work can lead to a more aesthetic response to the story itself and open up richer ways of reading and talking.

Join Mat in an interactive exploration of the play between word and image whilst also discussing the importance of authentic, diverse representation in picturebooks.

This lecture is open to readers of all ages
