About

The IT Service Desk is your central point of contact for all IT-related support at Oxford Brookes. Whether you're facing technical challenges, need assistance with software, or require guidance on university IT resources, we are here to help.

 

Contacting the IT Service Desk Team

Online

The IT Service Desk can be contacted online via the Service Portal at https://service.brookes.ac.uk/. The Service Portal offers the following core services: 

  • Request Something: Browse the catalogue for commonly requested services and items you need
  • Knowledge Base: Browse our self-help and service information articles
  • Report a Fault or Issue: Contact support to get assistance with an issue or help with our services
  • Chat Support: Chat support is available Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.* and can be accessed by using the “Click here to start a chat with IT Services” button at the bottom of the Service Portal homepage. 

By Phone

Call 01865 521 125 for assistance Monday to Friday, 8.30 am to 5.00 pm*.

Teaching and Event Support: It is recommended that you call the IT Service Desk if you are having issues during teaching or an event; Service Desk staff will be dispatched promptly.

In Person

If you need to speak to IT staff face-to-face, there are also IT Service Desk Points, open Monday to Friday, at the following locations:

Headington Campus

  • Gipsy Lane site: Forum, John Henry Brookes Building
        10.30 am to 4.30 pm
  • Marston Road site: MRG47
        8.30 am to 9.30 am and 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm (walk-in availability)

Harcourt Hill Campus - B104
8.30 am to 9.30 am and 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm (walk-in availability*)

Swindon Campus - JOFG09B, Swindon Library
8.30 am to 9.30 am and 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm (walk-in availability on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday*)

 

*Phone and Chat support is generally available Monday to Thursday from 08:30 - 17:00 and from 08:30 - 16:30 on Friday. Please consult the university calendar for closures. On rare occasions, general phone support may be temporarily suspended due to exceptional events outside of university closures or bank holidays.
